With a mix of emotions I am announcing today that I will be stepping down from the AD role on January 1 2023. It may seem like a bit of a bolt from the blue for many people reading this but it's been in process for some time now.

I’m sad to be leaving but excited to be creating the space for myself to focus on my own practice for a time.I’m also incredibly proud of what we have achieved at AAO, which is now in a very strong position. When I took the job of leading the Orchestra I was inspired by Founding AD, Paul Grabowsky's expansive vision, and I believe that vision is still as relevant today as it was in 1994. I am glad to be leaving the organisation in a position where that vision can continue to thrive into the future with a strong funding base and a set of initiatives that foster rigorous artistic exploration, and that support the incredible community of improvising musicians that make the AAO what it is today. I thank all those musicians for their generosity and support, it has really been such an mind blowing experience to work with you, I have learnt so much, and have made some of the most formative and nourishing friendships of my life!

There are too many people to thank individually but I would like to acknowledge the support of the current core team who work so hard to make good things happen: Jem Savage, Reuben Lewis, Helen Svoboda, Jasmin Wing-Yin Leung, and Rosemary Willink.
